Personal Grooming Trends 2021
As we move further along into the year 2021, we started, created, or continued new personal grooming and self-care practices; especially during the year 2020 when we could not get to our favorite hairstylist, estheticians, massage centers, and more.
The importance of self-care and overall personal grooming practices are helpful to an individual's overall appearance and several aspects of health, from physical to mental. There is power in seeing an appearance in your reflection that you can be happy about. This happiness in personal appearance starts with self-care and other practices in grooming that will allow us to get the desired look we want. However, how does this reflection we seek for happiness compare to the current trends?
Let’s explore some personal grooming trends we have seen so far in 2021:
- Hair acceptance: Throughout recent years there has been a spark in increased acceptance of naturally growing hairs in the various areas they grow on the body from underarms to beard, more people are accepting and letting their hair naturally grow than before. This however directly resulted from the various quarantine periods experienced in 2020.
- Minimalism & quick makeup looks: With the new makeup products and tools being created for the range of skin tones and undertones, the bare face or no-makeup look is becoming more achievable than ever. This style of makeup works for many, as Zoom meetings may still be an everyday reality for us.
- Skincare regimen adoption: As more businesses open their digital stores and ship to various countries, many skincare regimens and recommendations made their way to various social media platforms, blog posts, and videos. We will continue to see how and what items people used to make their skin glow!
- The popularity of Manscaping: Companies such as Dollar Shave Club are making the conversation around private hair grooming more acceptable amongst influencers and their followers. These companies help clients with managing their hair with ease and at home.
