Black Movie Highlights
A new year comes a new list of movies and other films to look forward to. Between classic movie theaters making a comeback from Covid-19 closures and streaming still having a steady hold on our televisions, tablets, and even phones, there are plenty of films to look forward to. Within the year of 2023, many seasoned actors, actresses, and beloved movie franchises are coming back to revive Hollywood. However, we want to highlight the Black films, actors and actresses that will be all over our screens.
-Missing (theaters): starring Storm Reid and Nia Long, a drama thriller about a mother going missing after an out of country trip and a daughter trying to track her steps.
-You People (Netflix): directed by Kenya Barris, a twist on a newly aged “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” with a star-studded cast featuring Nia Long, Eddie Murphy, Lauren London and Jonah Hill and many more.
-Creed III (theaters): starring Michael B. Jordan, Jonathan Majors, Phylicia Rashad and Tessa Thompson, Creed III continues the story of boxer Adonis Creed as he faces more issues in and out of the ring.
-They Cloned Tyrone (Netflix): a mystery action thriller starring John Boyega, Jamie Foxx and Teyonah Parris, where strange events put the trio in the middle of “a nefarious government conspiracy.”
